Maxwell M. Christiansen

Attorney Maxwell M. Christiansen was born and raised in the Palm Beaches, Florida, by his parents Attorney John T. Christiansen and Susan Christiansen, PhD. He attended The Benjamin School before becoming a student-athlete of Emory University, where he earned a Bachelor of Science in 2012, majoring in Neuroscience & Behavioral Biology and minoring in Mathematics.

Maxwell graduated from The University of Florida Levin College of Law in 2016 with a Juris Doctor and Certificate in Intellectual Property. While in law school, he was a senior editor of UF Law’s Journal of Technology Law & Policy, which publishes articles that focus on “grey area” legal issues surrounding modern technology. As editor, Maxwell authored a note, which will be published by the journal this fall. During his summers in law school, Maxwell interned at the United States Patent & Trademark Office in Alexandria, Virginia, and Lott & Fischer, PL, a boutique intellectual property litigation firm in Miami, Florida. Maxwell also completed an internship in the legal department of Exactech, Inc., a NASDAQ-traded medical device manufacturer in Gainesville, Florida during his last semester.

After graduation, Maxwell joined the law firm of Lytal, Reiter, Smith, Ivey & Fronrath, where he handled claims on behalf of injury victims. In 2017, he joined the Law Office of Paul J. Burkhart, LP.

In his spare time, Maxwell enjoys the outdoors and playing music. He occasionally performs for various venues all over South Florida.
